Mama and Me Smoothie

Smoothies just have a place in my heart for the weather gets warm. I love that I can pack so many fruits and nutrients in an easy drink. They are great way to use up produce you may have on hand that is about to go bad or add other good for you nutrients that you may not enjoy outside of a smoothie.

Smoothies can be such a healthy option! The key is making it yourself. Restaurant smoothies sound healthy but often contain very little fruit and usually have a lot of added sugars and calories.

This smoothie is great for all stages of motherhood. My TTC mamas can enjoy the antioxidants packed in it plus the whole fat dairy which may help with fertility. Nursing mamas can enjoy the calcium, flaxseed, and brewer’s yeast which can boost milk supply. (Which is EXACTLY why I made these). And finally my preggo mamas can enjoy this smoothie as a way to get more nutrition in during those first few months where it is really difficult to eat anything but toast and cereal. I love putting a bit aside for babe to eat too.

If you are rushing around in the morning you can blend these up in advance and place them in cups in the freezer. Just take one out the night before and put it in your fridge and it is ready to hit the road! If you have time to blend in the morning you can put all the ingredients in a plastic baggie in the freezer to just dump and blend in the morning.

  1. Combine all ingredients except the brewer's yeast in a blender and blend on high until smoothie.
  2. Set baby's smoothie aside and add brewer's yeast to mama's smoothie for an added lactation boost.
